About Liz

Liz Known by most as The Stork Lawyer®, Elizabeth Swire Falker, Esq. (“Liz”), graduated from Wellesley College and The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. She was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1994 before the Appellate Division, First Department, and also is admitted in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. After spending seven years as a commercial litigator in Manhattan law firms and going through her own infertility journey, in 2004 she re-focused her career to practice in the areas of reproductive and adoption law (www.storklawyer.com). In 2011 Liz opened this agency, perhaps the first of its kind licensed Egg Donor Advocacy Agency, The Stork Lawyer ConnectionTM .

Liz is considered one of the most prominent voices in the United States in matters pertaining to infertility, third party assisted reproduction, and family building. In addition to her legal background, she is the author of two commercial books on infertility and adoption, including the bestselling, cult classic, The Infertility Survival Handbook (Riverhead Books), and The Ultimate Insider’s Guide to Adoption (Warner Books). Among the many professional articles she has written, in 2009, to critical acclaim, Liz published a law review article on Embryo Donation : The Disposition of Cryopreserved Embryos: Why Embryo Adoption is an Inapposite Model for Application to Third-Party Assisted Reproduction, 35 William Mitchell L.R. 489 (2009) (to read the article click here). Liz also has a very popular blog which was recently listed by the American Bar Association among its directory of best legal “blawgs.” Liz currently is producing a series of E-Books on Assisted Reproduction which will be available on her websites and through other commercial outlets. The first of the E-Books is entitled the Nuts and Bolts of ART: The Egg Donation E-Book (©2012); it is almost and finished will be available for download very soon! Her most important job, however, is being the proud mother of two children through the miracle of adoption.
